I'm going to Texas!!
I have been wanting...no, aching to go to TX for some time now, so when I got an invite for my best friends baby shower, I looked up airfare hoping to find it reasonable. To my surprise, I was able to get a ticket from the 20th to the 25th for $217! (Yay for a tax refund!) The shower is on the 24th! If it was any other time, the tickets would have cost $454 and up, which would have made it impossible for me to go. I had debated surprising Jamie by showing up at her shower, or letting her know ahead of time. I decided to let her know, so if possible, I will see her before then. After all, I will be leaving the morning after and wouldn't have much time to see her. (I love you, Jamie!!)
The 18th is the birthday of my best friend, Stacie, whom I haven't seen in a couple of years, so we can celebrate that special day as well...a few days late. We will be going to dinner with my previous Bishop and his wonderful wife to celebrate. They are amazing people and have been there through thick and thin. Actually, all of these people I will be seeing are the most loyal in TX! I have truly been blessed to know them. Also, while I am there, is the ward Temple night. The Houston temple is absolutely beautiful! I'm tellin ya...it was meant to be. Already, the week is filling up.
The first person I will see, is my dear friend Averil, who will be picking me up from the airport. Her mother recently passed away from cancer, and I have desperately wanted to see her. Hopefully, my bestie, Martha, will be feeling good enough to go with her. Her health has drastically declined over the last couple of years, and doctors haven't been able to pin-point the problem. It will be so good to see her. There is also my aunt and grandpa who will get many visits, as well as one of the most influential people of my life - Carlos, whom I will be seeing Tuesday morning. Not to mention...Galveston Island!!!!
Yep. I am truly blessed...and oh so excited!!!
